The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling

In The Tales of Beedle the Bard, J.K. Rowling revives the essence of magic with enchanted fairytales. These fables don't always end happily, but tell important morals for all ages. They remind each of us that we all have our own weaknesses and vulnerabilities. We are more likely to choose power over what's right and seek after our own desires without realizing the consequences that follow. Each of us have a choice of being the hero/heroine. Magic can't solve every problem. Witches and wizards are quite similar to Muggles. One of the most emphasized morals and theme I certainly agree with is that immortality doesn't exist. In the end, nobody lives forever. Having love and compassion for others never ceases. In addition to these enjoyable stories, J.K. Rowling creates enjoyable charming illustrations. Plus each book is donated towards a good cause, Children's High Level Group. Muggles and Harry Potter fans will be sure to enjoy The Tales of Beedle the Bard and read it over again.

My favourite stories listed in order.

1. The Fountain of Fair Fortune
2. The Tale of the Three Brothers
3. The Warlock's Hairy Heart
4. The Wizard and the Hopping Pot
5. Babbitty Rabbitty and Her Cackling Stump

Tecktonik!

Tecktonik is an electro dance scene originating from France. There's no music genre for tecktonik, but dancers listen to electro/house music. This dance influence is starting to spread throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. To understand tecktonik you must see it yourself.

Facts about the REAL East High

(In case you didn't know or if you were wondering...)

Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Mascot: Leopards
School colors: Red and White
School Rivalry: Highland High School
We do NOT have a fountain in front of our school. The one used in HSM is made of Styrofoam and only used for our school musicals.
We do NOT have banners outside of our school. Exteriors of East High are basic and plain.
We do NOT have a garden on top of our roof. The garden on top of East High was only created for HSM. East High students are restricted from the roof.
The sign in front of our school says “Salt Lake City East”. In HSM, the sign says “East High School”
Our drama room is not in an actual classroom. It’s in a Little Theater where drama students perform productions.
Students use eMacs for graphics and NOT MacBook Pros as seen in HSM. The computers in the library were replaced with more updated monitors for HSM.
Our school lunch isn't as fancy as scene in HSM3.
Believe it or not, East High isn’t as sparkling clean as you see it.
Besides the cast of HSM, the REAL East High has our own stars and well known people who attend and/or have graduated from East High (see link below).
Our posters in the hallway are not as perfect as shown in HSM.
In general, a lot of the decoration seen in HSM is non-existent at the REAL East High.
Disney transformed the REAL East High into a ‘perfect’ school and when shooting was over, they turned it back into ‘normal’ again.
While shooting HSM, students were not permitted anywhere near shooting sites. However, few students met and saw the cast of HSM.
The halls of East High are not as colorful as in the movie. With East High’s new principal, we are working on making the school a brighter place. East High has been called a ‘hospital’ or ‘mental institution’ known for white hallways.
Students usually don’t dress in candy colored clothes to school.
We don’t randomly break out in songs and dances.

Now you know that film is deceptive, but everyday is still a great day to be a Leopard at East High. East High continues its legacy where amazing happens. Any other questions?

HSM3 "A Hit Sensation!"

Strong passionate dislike for High School Musical? I thought so too until HSM3: Senior Year came along. With high expectations from fans and a huge big screen production, HSM3 truly made an outstanding come back. Splashes of colorful costumes along with glamorized sets were just a small part of bringing life to this film. Throughout HSM3, anticipated new catchy songs almost made you get out off your seat and 'break free' yourself. It's exciting to see a new face, Jenna McKenzie-Brown as well as the familiar original cast we've come to know and love. Overall, HSM3 had a good plot, impressively directed and well scripted. Despite overly dramatic scenes, there were moments of truth about friendship, love, and lessons to be learned while growing up. HSM3 brings many laughs, smiles, and memories. This is one high school fairytale to never forget. HSM3 exceeded my expectations and deserves four stars for approval.

The Glass Passenger

Andrew McMahon from Jack's Mannequin described his album's theme as surviving through another day. To me, The Glass Passenger is about being along for the ride and finding what we're looking for. We're all vulnerable in one way or the other and we discover ways of getting past this. The Glass Passenger is another Jack's Mannequin masterpiece filled with meaningful metaphorical lyrics. Also, heart felt notes played out on the piano along with the rest of the band make this an inspiring album. Fans of Jacks Mannequin will definitely enjoy this new highly anticipated album.

Opinions on the Beijing Olympics 2008

Angry protesters have been demonstrating violence all over the world and boycotting anything that has to do with China or the 2008 Olympics. There should be a seperation of politics and the Olympics. In the summer of 2006, I competed in the World Choir Games in Xiamen, China. It was music that brought all of the countries together. The protesters want peace in Tibet, but they're destroying peace themselves with all the protesting. We should all be as one, loving sports, and coming together as a world.
