here i go again: take two

Last year, I declared a biology major. But after a few epiphanies I've had, I think I'm going into
computer science: entertainment arts & engineering.
I hope this is the one!
p.s. Some days like today, I feel like I should be an English and graphic design major as well. I think I'll be a Renaissance woman.

Computers used to be human and a she. World music is my favourite part of the day, especially when I hear the cookie monster song. I went to the fabric store and guess what I found? The same watermelon fabric I used in middle school when I tried to sew. It was like seeing my past resurrect before me. I'm learning to improvise! Nothing makes me happier than waking up and reading letters. I could model for Uniqlo. George Harrison and friends, the Concert for Bangladesh! Streaming daylight inspired an idea into a website. We are cities. The cities inspire us. Made of steel, concrete and glass, we are immovable, an urban landscape and a fragile reflection of our own dreams.

fall semester 2010

Finals are finally over. Grades are posted. I couldn't be happier as I walked out of WEB into twilight, the fading sun and the lake reflecting behind the city lights. There were goodbyes, words exchanged and heart felt gratitude. I celebrated with friends over dinner and ice cream. Another year, another semester and we made it. A bittersweet ending.

it's official

For a little less than a year, I've been thinking about and wanting to be a biology ta. Now my dream has come true. I am a bio ta! And I couldn't be more grateful to have this opportunity.

Happy Finds
While sorting out papers from previous years in school, I stumbled across these little artworks I made. All of this was forgotten before I looked through my art folder. I'm happy I keep these as a reminder of things I've done and learned in school. They remind me of growing up and how I never really want to grow up. And I never stopped having enthusiasm for colours.

Here's to the Past, Present and Future
Today was the last day of class for fall semester. I still have finals next week (which I should be working on right now), but I never actually thought I would be this sad at the end of the semester. This hit me hard after my last biology class. I really might cry. Biology has been my favourite class this semester. Learning about life is inspiring, fascinating and interesting. I love it a lot. I loved going to class and listening to Dave's lectures. I always laughed at his jokes, admired his knowledge, his love for teaching and most of all, learning life lessons I will never forget. I might never see a certain TA again. And although I will definitely miss the hot bio ta, I've also come to know all the other TAs as well.To every memory, to every friend or person I've met,
this is how I've really felt all along.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word
And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye
Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never been this way before
Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light
Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it, too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye
