to someone out there named j + a few others

I am whole because of you. You have changed me in a million different ways. I could never thank you enough. Now I can say I've lived an experience all because of you.

And I could write a song
A hundred miles long
Get lost and then get found
And I could write a book
The one they'll say that shook
The world
Oh the streets you're walking on
A thousand houses long
Well that's where I belong
And you belong with me
Not swallowed in the sea

Memorial Day Weekend

Happy holiday! Over the weekend, my mom and I claimed this gorgeous peony. Now I want to adorn my head with a large peony headband. I got my baby, Martin 000X1, a new addition to the family. Every time I pick up my Martin, I can never put it down. I should really name my first acoustic/more-than-amazing guitar. My mom and I watched Sex and the City 2. I'm ignoring the critics. I don't care what they say because I loved it and laughed a lot. Brooke Fraser herself tweeted me. I mused over works of fiction by Lewis Carroll and C.S. Lewis. I visited my grandparents' grave. The cemetery is never a cheerful place, but there was a peaceful feeling over the blue sky and fields of flowers. Our family had brunch in a jaded green themed room, where I came across this emerald chandelier. There was a jazz band playing in a little corner and the setting comparatively made me feel like I was on an episode of Gossip Girls. I don't really watch that show, but I was Blair for a few hours, just having a fancy brunch in the city.

music et la mode en mai

Past: I decided to wear a big pink bow on my head one day. This little girl at the music studio stared at me and said, "she's wearing a big bow...a big pink bow." I turned to my corner and kind of laughed because it really was funny. I felt slightly ridiculous, but I love my pink bow. Take a bow with a pink bow.
Presently: I've been busy practicing guitar and I can't believe playing for Save Darfur is three weeks away! Nervous and excited.

::a list of happiness (pt. 2)

I never thought this day would come and yes, I'm definitely jumping for joy. Summer is finally here and I'm off to start my adventures.
Also, being the listographer that I am, I wanted to write another happiness list.
1. Writing on graphing paper and seeing my own handwriting on the pages.
2. Libraries (the printed word)
3. My classical guitar, which I'm still in love with. (it's probably been eight years now)
4. The sound of a guitar in open C tuning. John Butler has inspired me.
5. Conversations in a living room.
6. The thought of sleeping in the next day.
7. Laughing with friends and family.
8. J because he's rad, my ideal and first-rate at everything.
9. Playing for a Save Darfur charity event this summer. (I've never been to the Farmer's Market)
10. The colour spring green, apple green, bright green. Just green in general. It's my new favourite colour, I've decided.
