Three Artists to Swoon Over + Two to Love

Greg Laswell
He's known for his songs on Grey's Anatomy. Some of his songs have almost made me cry on the last season of Grey's Anatomy, especially the finale. Although some of his songs have made me sad, he writes happy songs, too. His voice is comfort and I love his tunes.
Songs to listen to:
"How the Day Sounds"
"Off I Go"
"Comes And Goes (In Waves)"
Graham Colton
The first time I saw Graham Colton live was in Ft. Lauderdale, when I saw him perform as The Graham Colton Band. He did an opening act for Kelly Clarkson during her tour a few years back. The second time I saw him live was in Seattle, opening for Vanessa Carlton. I didn't recognize who he was until he played his song "First Week." The same song I had on my iPod and the song I sang along to when I first saw him live. After he performed on stage, I got a picture with him. And after the Vanessa Carlton concert, I bought his cd and talked with him a bit more. He's a down to earth guy who loves his fans. I told him I saw him before performing with Shakira! My mistake...that was before I realized I saw him with Kelly Clarkson. I was slightly embarrassed I had said that out loud to him, but I got over it. He's sweet and writes beautiful songs. I love him. You should add him as a friend on Twitter. He twitters/tweets back and appreciates all the support.
Check out his new EP: Twenty Something
Songs to Listen to:
"Love Comes Back Around"
"Telescope"
"Cellophane Girl"
Joshua Radin
I discovered Joshua Radin through iTunes and a song performed with Schuyler Fisk. If you listen to his songs, they will make you laugh and take a long drive on an afternoon, carelessly cruising through life.
Songs to listen to:
"Sky"
"No Envy, No Fear"
"I'd Rather Be With You"
Schuyler Fisk
Discovering Schuyler Fisk was one of the best things that has happened to me. I fell in love with her after finding a cover song of hers on YouTube. Ever since then, I learned how to play her songs on the guitar and did a cover song myself. She has one of the most beautiful voices and writes all the songs that describe my life. Love her.
Songs to listen to:
"From Where I'm Standing"
"Hello"
"The Good Stuff"
Ingrid Michaelson
Also known for her songs on Grey's Anatomy, she's linked to Greg Laswell. Her style is a bit different, slightly melancholy and indie. All the more reason to listen to her.
Songs to listen to:
"All Love"
"Turn to Stone"
"The Way I Am"

CMT Awards 2009

photo via CMT

Even though I'm not a huge country fan, I watched the CMT Awards the other night. Why? All because of Taylor Swift. She won The Best Video of the Year and The Best Female Video. Can you say amazing?
The opening of the CMT Awards was best part of the entire show. Who knew Taylor Swift could be so gangsta with T-Pain. Let me tell you, this girl knows how to put on a real act. I heart her.

6.13.2009

And today was a day just like any other.

But I found more to love...
Let's just say I was driving
And listening to music.
Kept falling in love with
Matt Nathanson.
Over and over again...
Boys who play the guitar
Are just simply adorable.
I ordered Pin-Up magazine.
Can't wait to open up
All its architectural wonders.
Even though the store ran out
Of Ritter Sport dark chocolate marzipan,
I bought milk chocolate biscuit.
It is just as good.
I'm addicted to Ritter Sport.
My summer tour starts soon.
Australia, New Zealand, London, Germany
And Hawaii awaits...
Even though I've lived through what
Seems like many moments of boredom,
There is so much excitement.

A Birthday Wish List

Naomi at The Rockstar Diaries created her biiiiiiiirthday wish list . I thought I would do the same since my birthday is in 18 days.

Even though I'm not completely excited to turn nineteen, I've realized that it is after all, my birthday and there is something to be excited about!

Here is my birthday wish list:

Patterns in Design Art and Architecture at B&N.
(I flipped through this book filled with inspirational art and designs. Loved it.)

a travel Moleskine notebook
(although I might never use one of these notebooks while traveling, I still think they are cool)

a decent priced electric guitar with an amp and everything
(after playing my guitar teacher's electric, I want one)
even guitar picks would be nice

That's all I can really think of right now.
Even though cake and ice cream with family and friends are all I really need and want, we can always dream. Who says we always have to live in reality?

To All The Things I Love About Today

image via photobucket

Rain...
I love how this rainy weather isn't going anywhere. My windows are opened and the cool breeze feels wonderful right now. Raindrops splashing on sidewalks and mystical clouds hanging over me. What could possibly be better?!

Music...
Let's see, Taylor Swift and Brooke Fraser. I walked through the halls of my high school today and it felt so weird being back there. I felt every bit of Taylor Swift's songs true and with me. Even the rain made me listen to their songs.
"With you I'd dance, in a storm in my best dress, fearless" (Taylor Swift)
"I'm hanging here just reminiscing about all the things you said to me" (Brooke Fraser).
And these songs describe how the rain made me feel today.
Plus, I loved guitar lessons today. I played on an electric. Now I want one.

Friends...
Lots of hugs and knowing who my true friends are. I love them.

Staying inside and watching movies...
Today, I watched Forever Strong
Sean Faris is beautiful.
Love this movie to death.
Brought me to tears, almost cried.
Never thought I would love rugby and the haka so much.
Kia kaha.

An Enthusiast's Note

Today I went through my poem journal.
I thought I would share with whoever is reading this.

"Who I Am"

I am the enthusiast
The one who laughs
And loves to love.
A daring dreamer
Seeking inspiration
Through the world
While having beliefs
Within myself.
